Parameter Estimation for Failure Identification of a Li-Ion Battery Cell
Application ID: 130651
The model used is the P2D model also called the Newman model.
Parameter estimation is run using experimental data of driving cycles from healthy cells.
The parameter values are determined for a confidence of 0.95 for each parameter.
Parameter estimation is then run using data from unknown cells to determine if they are healthy or not.
EIS simulations are run using parameter values for healthy cells and for unknown cells to use these results as verification.
In a last step, uncertainty quantification is used to determine the importance of different parameters on a quantity of interest, for example the cell voltage.
This model example illustrates applications of this type that would nominally be built using the following products:
however, additional products may be required to completely define and model it. Furthermore, this example may also be defined and modeled using components from the following product combinations:
The combination of COMSOL® products required to model your application depends on several factors and may include boundary conditions, material properties, physics interfaces, and part libraries. Particular functionality may be common to several products. To determine the right combination of products for your modeling needs, review the Tabella delle Funzionalità and make use of a free evaluation license. The COMSOL Sales and Support teams are available for answering any questions you may have regarding this.
