Parameter Estimation using Maximum Likelihood

The model shows how to estimate the Young's modulus and Poisson ratio based on a tensile test. The test measures the tensile force and the radial displacement. Typical numerical values of these quantities differ with around 10 orders of magnitude. Using a maximum likelihood strategy together with separate controls for the noise of each type of data allows for elimination of weighting parameters.
