Rudie Consulting LLC performs engineering services in the medical device space, including concept ideation, simulation using the COMSOL Multiphysics® software, rapid prototyping, and feasibility studies in lab and in vivo. Its engineers help clients optimize existing medical devices and create new ones that incorporate novel solutions to meet clients' needs and are routinely used to augment engineering teams. Rudie Consulting LLC has a strong history of empirical techniques in performing medical device engineering and maintains the necessary lab filled with instruments, including vector network analyzers (VNAs), spectrum analyzers, dielectric measurement capability, and more to continue empirical work. The addition of COMSOL® has become vital, as it makes it possible to “hit the mark” in the first iteration of a prototype, followed by an even more accurate and optimized second iteration. The excellent agreement between COMSOL® simulations and empirical measurements benefits clients because it shortens the development cycle dramatically, saves money on prototyping materials, provides a much more nuanced understanding, and results in a more optimal solution than possible with empirical efforts alone. Rudie Consulting LLC was incorporated in 2004. Its core team includes MSEE, BSEE, and associate degrees in electrical engineering and a PhD degree in mechanical engineering. Together, the team represents more than 100 years of research and product development in the medical device space, dozens of issued and pending patents, and many FDA approvals for clients.
