Impedance boundary condition of helical structure

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi, I am trying to run some RF simulations with a helical coil. however, the surface of the helical coil is not applicable for Impedance boundary conditions. and this will lead to an error: failed to find a solution. So it is that we couldn't define an impedance boundary condition on a helical surface?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hi,

you must remove the helical domain from the emv node. Otherwise the inside of the domain would be modeled and an impedance boundary condition makes no sense.

Cheers

Hi Edgar,

Thank you for your reply. I have already defined an explicit 'helical surface'. When the 'helical surface' is selected as the Impedance Boundary Condition, all of the boundaries of 'helical surface' are 'not applicable'.
I am trying to attach the model file here, but it is over sized.

Thank you!
