Thermoelectric Cooler

This app demonstrates the following: Visualizing material appearance, color, and texture Showing info below the graphics about geometry parameters, results and performance depending on the selected plot action Thermoelectric coolers are widely used for electronics cooling in various ... Cooling and Solidification of Metal

This example is a model of a continuous casting process. Liquid metal is poured into a mold of uniform cross section. The outside of the mold is cooled and the metal solidifies as it flows through. When the metal leaves the mold, it is completely solidified on the outside, but still ... Per saperne di più

Droplet Evaporation on Solid Substrate

Droplet evaporation is ubiquitous in everyday life, and is essential in many industrial processes such as ink-jet printing, cleaning or coating of surfaces, and phase change heat transfer. In this model, a water droplet placed on a solid substrate evaporates in air. We solve the ... Per saperne di più

Radiative Cooling of a Glass Plate

When producing glass, the glass melt is cooled down through radiation to form the final shape, subjecting it to stresses. Numerical treatment of radiative heat transfer, using the Radiative Transfer Equation (RTE), helps to optimize this process. COMSOL Multiphysics provides three ... Per saperne di più

Computing Loss, Temperature, and Efficiency in Electric Motors

This a continuation of the permanent magnet motor model available here . In this model, an heat transfer analysis has been performed to compute the temperature rise for various stator current and rotor speed. A detailed analysis on torque, and losses in iron and copper have then been ... Per saperne di più

Continuous Casting — Apparent Heat Capacity Method

This example models the casting process of a metal rod from liquid to solid state using the Non-Isothermal Flow multiphysics interface, which combines heat transfer and fluid flow. The model describes the fluid and solid flow and heat transport, including the phase transfer from melt to ... Per saperne di più

Forced Air Cooling with Heat Sink

This app demonstrates the following: Geometry parts and parameterized geometries Sending an email with a report when the computation is finished User-defined email server settings which is useful when running compiled standalone applications Options for setting different mesh sizes ... Forced Convection Cooling of an Enclosure with Fan and Grille

This study simulates the thermal behavior of a computer Power Supply Unit (PSU). Most of such electronic enclosures include cooling devices to avoid electronic components to be damaged by excessively high temperatures. In this model, an extracting fan and a perforated grille cause an air ... Per saperne di più

Tin Melting Front

This example demonstrates how to model phase transition by a moving boundary interface according to the Stefan problem. A square cavity containing both solid and liquid tin is submitted to a temperature difference between left and right boundaries. Fluid and solid parts are solved in ... Per saperne di più

Marangoni Effect

Marangoni convection occurs when the surface tension of an interface (generally liquid-air) depends on the concentration of a species or on the temperature distribution. In the case of temperature dependence, the Marangoni effect is also called thermo-capillary convection. The Marangoni ... Per saperne di più
