This model shows a full vibroacoustic analysis of a loudspeaker including driver, cabinet, and stand. It lets you apply a nominal driving voltage and extract the resulting sound pressure level in the cabinet and in the outside room, as well as the deformation of the cabinet and driver, ... In this tutorial, the acoustic radiation pattern from a small generic loudspeaker is analyzed using the boundary element method (BEM). The loudspeaker is located on a small table above the floor and at a given distance from a wall. The model is set up using the Pressure Acoustics, ... Per saperne di più
The suspension of a loudspeaker is designed to keep the membrane in place and avoid any rocking movement of the voice coil. At low frequencies, where the displacement of the membrane is significant, the stiffness of the suspension varies along the movement of the voice coil. This ... Per saperne di più
This model shows how the source directivity and phase can be extracted from a 3D FEM model of a loudspeaker (in this case, the Loudspeaker Driver in a Vented Enclosure model). The source characteristics are then used to define a ray acoustics source with the same spatial properties. Per saperne di più
This tutorial models the acoustic behavior of a loudspeaker driver mounted in a bass reflex enclosure. The enclosure, sometimes called the cabinet, alters substantially the sensitivity and radiation characteristics of the loudspeaker and it is why it is usually considered part of the ... In this model, a full transient analysis of a loudspeaker driver is performed, which allow the modeling of nonlinear effects. It extends the linear frequency domain analysis done in the Loudspeaker Driver tutorial model. The analysis accounts for nonlinear behavior of the soft iron in ... Per saperne di più
This example shows how to model a loudspeaker driver of the dynamic cone type, common for low and medium frequencies. The analysis is carried out in the frequency domain and thus represents the linear behavior of the driver. The model analysis includes the total electric impedance and ... Per saperne di più
This is a full vibro-electroacoustic simulation of a balanced armature transducer (also known as a receiver in some industries) which is a high performance miniature loudspeaker often used in hearing aids and other in-ear audio products. The model is set up using a linear frequency ... Per saperne di più
A tweeter is a high frequency driver used in loudspeaker systems. An ideal tweeter will produce a constant sound pressure level at a given distance in front of the driver independently of frequency, that is, a flat response. Ideally the tweeter will also, to a certain degree, maintain ... Per saperne di più
This application illustrates how to use COMSOL’s optimization capabilities to automatically develop novel designs satisfying critical design constraints. The model optimizes a simple speaker geometry. Examples of constraints could include the radius of the loudspeaker or a desired ... Per saperne di più
