Impedance Calculation Issue in MEF Module with Voltage Excitation

Hi All.

I have simulated a 3D model in COMSOL using the Magnetic and Electric Fields (MEF) module. When I apply current excitation, I can easily find the impedance variable in the global evaluations. However, when I apply voltage excitation, I do not see any impedance variable in the global parameters.

could anybody help me to know why does this happen? How can I calculate the impedance when using voltage excitation?

I need to apply a voltage to my model and determine the impedance of the loop. Any guidance would be appreciated.

I found the port impedance is available for current and voltage excitation. Can it be you are doing a time dependent study with voltage excitation? In this case the port impedance is not available.

Hello, Many thanks for your reply. i used "electric potential" boundary condition under the "Magnetic insulation" configuration in MEF module to excite my model. is it still possible to calculate the impedance while using MEF terminals for exciting the model?its appreciated if you could help me how can i calculate the impedance in that scenario.

Impedance can be calculated as Z = U/I. You need to probe voltage and current at the boundaries of interest.
