transient propagation mode

hi, i have been using comsol for a while with the frequency domain solvers.

i now want to use the transient propagation solver for dispersive and time modulated materials. howvere, i did not understand several basic things:

1. where do i define the frequency of the wave? through the boundary conditions?

2. where do i define how long to let the waves propagate?

3. does the definitions in the subdomain settings allow for dispersive (frequency dependent) material parameters or are they constant in frequency?

4. can i make the material parameters time dependent?

thanks so much, yonatan.
