Integrating a dependent variable over a line

Hi
I don't know if someone has already asked this question but I couldn't find an answer and would appreciate your help. I am simulating the response of a solid phase sensor. My geometry is a rectangle and the active element is one of the sides of the rectangle which is a boundary with weak PDE condition. I would like to integrate one of the dependent variables over this active element. I used integration coupling variables in comsol 3.5 version but i don't know what to do in 4.1 version. I already tried defining an integration from model couplings in definitions and then using the integration coupling to define a new variable but it's not working properly, the results don't make any sense.
