How to set solver parameters?

Hi,

My model is a femtosecond pulse propagating in a nonlinear, dispersion material. The constitutive relation is “D=epsilon0*E+P”, and P is defined as “u”, “u”, the dependent variable of a PDE, time-dependent analysis, wave type. I want to duplicate the Duffing model of Mr. Toney’s.

My questions are:
1. What are the differences between “Time dependent” and “Time dependent segregated”?
2. Should the option “Allow complex numbers” be chosen?
3. There are 7 options for “linear system solver”, and which one should be chosen?
4. There are 4 options for “Matrix symmetry”, and which one should be chosen?
