export plot data to txt file

hi

i want to export the plot data from a slice-plot (dimensions: 1mx1m) into a txt-file.
as result i get a txt-file which has a size of ~8MB, but unfortunatly it does not contain the data from the whole plot. i think that maybe there is to much data.
so i know that i can reduce the size of data with a coarser mesh.
but is there an other way to limit the data size. is it posible to assign an area inside the slice plot so that i can only export the plot data of this area?

Hi

via matlab you can aleways re-interpolate over a coarser grid, not sure how to in the COMSOL v4 GUI. But if you do not need the full area cut your domain with a urface and define just the region of interest, if its an "interiour" boundary at most you add a little to your matrices, and a few nodes on the interiour boundary but this seldom gives convergion issues, on the otehr side its easy to pick a boundary and then use it to integrate or average our variables.

You also have the extrusion coupling variables that could be used

maybe it has something to do with Java memory size allocation in comsol.ini. Maybe you can increase them and see if it works.
