ACCURATE DERIVATIVE RECOVERY

Hi all,

I want to model a Li-ion battery in COMSOL. Before starting to model it, I wanted to do a simple, sample heat transfer analysis in COMSOL. I implemented a general transient heat transfer analysis in 3D with convection and conduction. I used a 3D rectangular prismatic shape. The temperature of the outer surface of the solid is fixed at 300 K. The initial temperature of all nodes is 300. I used a transient analysis with 0.1 s time increments and in total 10 s. I also implemented a heat source (Q) inside all the elements. I used 8 node-hexa elements which are imported as a nastran file.

After the analysis, the result were not reasonable (maybe due to coarse mesh) so that I highlighted the recover button in the plot parameter settings. When I use accurate derivative recovery, the temperature distiribution in the 3D prism is reasonable but this time the temperature values of the outer surface of the prism are higher than 300 K, although I fixed them to 300 K as a boundary condition. Can you give a reason for this phenomena?
