On-site Workshop Introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics® at Technopark
You are invited to join us for an opportunity to advance your skills in multiphysics simulation. At this workshop, you will see the capabilities and workflow of the COMSOL Multiphysics® software and learn through a guided hands-on exercise.
We will walk you through the basic workflow in COMSOL Multiphysics® and how you can model and study acoustics, heat transfer, electromagnetism, structural mechanics, fluid flow, and other interacting phenomena all in the same model.
You will learn the basic steps of building and solving a model:
- Building the geometry
- Defining physical phenomena and material properties
- Meshing
- Solving the model
- Visualization of the results
In the end we will show you how you may turn the finished model into a stand-alone application.
Schedule
- Get an introduction to the capabilities and the fundamental modeling workflow of COMSOL Multiphysics®
- Watch a live presentation of the entire analysis process via a practical example
- See how quick and easy it is to turn your sophisticated model into a specialized application that any engineer can use
To schedule a 45-60 minute 1-on-1 meeting, please contact Alyona Friedel at Alyona.Friedel@comsol.ch.
All attendees will get a 14-days trial license of COMSOL Multiphysics®. Our application engineers will be available throughout the trial period to answer questions and give support.
You are welcome to ask questions via the chat feature at any point during the web workshop and/or save them for the Q&A session toward the end. You will leave with new skills to work on your own models and applications.
The workshop is free, and no knowledge of COMSOL Multiphysics® is required.
Please register for the hands-on web workshop below. We will send you a free two-week COMSOL Multiphysics® trial and installation instructions before the event.

Sven Friedel established the COMSOL branch office in Switzerland and has helped engineers in industry and academia to drive innovation with multiphysics simulation since 2004. He holds a PhD in physics and worked as a researcher and lecturer on several topics, including electromagnetic inverse problems, geomagnetism, volcanology, and geotechnical engineering in Leipzig, Newcastle, and at ETH Zurich.
Justus Bohn joined COMSOL in 2021 as a technical sales and application engineer. He studied physics at the University of Jena, Germany, and researched at the University of Syndey, Australia. For his PhD, he joined the Centre for Doctoral Training in Metamaterials at the University of Exeter, UK.
Zoran Vidakovic joined the Swiss COMSOL office in 2010. He received his MS degree in mechanical engineering from ETH Zürich. At the Laboratory for Energy Conversion, he specialized in turbomachinery, heat transfer, and fluid dynamics. His industrial internship was completed in the R&D department of MAN Diesel & Turbo Schweiz AG.
