Water treatment processes are essential for removing harmful bacteria, viruses, chemicals, and pollutants from water to ensure it is safe for human consumption and can be discharged in an environmentally responsible manner. Numerical modeling enables engineers and scientists to gain a better understanding of these processes and facilitates design optimization.

In this webinar, we will provide an introduction to modeling water treatment processes in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software. The presentation will highlight built-in functionality for modeling systems such as sedimentation clarifiers, hydrocyclones, ceramic water filters, and ultraviolet purification reactors. There will also be a demonstration of simulating the separation of flocs from water in a circular secondary clarifier.
