When designing machinery with rotating parts, the effects of spinning need to be captured correctly to ensure safe and stable operation. Modeling and simulation provides an effective alternative to often extremely costly prototyping that enables engineers to account for these effects while developing optimized solutions.

The Rotordynamics Module is an add-on to the Structural Mechanics Module (itself an add-on the COMSOL Multiphysics® software) that provides purpose-built functionality to help engineers:

  • Accurately predict and avoid critical speeds
  • Prevent equipment failure and instability
  • Characterize the imbalance response to ensure vibrations are kept at a minimum

In this webinar, we will present the capabilities of the Rotordynamics Module, using example models to demonstrate the workflow and the module's specialized features.
