Editing, Repairing, and Combining Imported STL Files with CAD - Archived

STL files store the shape of 3D objects in a tessellated format — a surface mesh of interconnected triangles — and are often used to exchange geometric data between programs. One application of STL files is to send data from 3D CAD programs for 3D printing and rapid prototyping. When modeling with COMSOL Multiphysics®, STL files are often imported to create computational domains based on surfaces that originate from various 3D imaging techniques, used, for example, for medical and geological applications.
In this webinar, we will share the latest workflow for importing STL files into COMSOL Multiphysics. We will also discuss the features for editing and repairing imported surface meshes as well as creating computational domains by combining surface meshes with each other and with CAD designs. There will be a live demonstration in the software followed by a Q&A.
