Modeling Overview: Acoustic-Structure Interaction

You can use COMSOL Multiphysics® with the Acoustics Module for simulating acoustic–structure interaction (ASI). This previously held webinar covers the basics of modeling ASI using the software. There is a short introduction to COMSOL Multiphysics® and the Acoustics Module, followed by a discussion on vibroacoustics. You will also get an overview of different types of ASI that can be modeled, such as:

  • Submerged structures
  • Speakers
  • Exhaust systems
  • Building components
  • MEMS
  • Ultrasound
  • Microphones
  • Automotive applications

Thereafter, you will see a complete model build of the Fuel Tank Vibration tutorial model and learn about the geometry and operating conditions for the device. The demonstration also includes a thorough discussion on the different options for taking either a conservative or precise modeling approach for simulating the ASI of this application, and covers how the results for these approaches can be analyzed and compared. Furthermore, you will hear concluding observations as to the importance of incorporating multiphysics effects in your models.

This webinar is relevant to recently released versions of COMSOL Multiphysics®. You may notice small differences between versions. You can learn more about the expanded capabilities for modeling loudspeakers with COMSOL Multiphysics® and the Acoustics Module here.
