How to define TE and TM mode for 3D simulation?

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

I want to use the 3D model of wave optics module to simulate a periodic structure. To excite my structure in my simulation, I intend to use both TE and TM polarization. I am using periodic port; could you please tell me how to define the TE and TM modes specifically?

I have one more question about rectangular ports. I understand how to define TE and TM modes while using rectangular port, but can we use rectangular ports for Periodic Structure?
