Dielectric Polarization

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hello, one question.
I'm working in COMSOL 4.2a in the MEMS module (EMI).
One description of my problem is for example the case of a slab of linear dielectric material partially inserted between the plates of a parallel plate capacitor.
In this situation the dielectric experimented one force to interior of the capacitor because the electric field polarize the molecules in the dielectric.
Is possible solve its problem in COMSOL? How COMSOL calculate its force?

Thanks

Yes, it is possible to solve this in Comsol. See the documentation on the Maxwell stress tensor.
