Photonic crystal fiber mode field simulation

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi, I am trying to simulate the model field distribution of some customized photonic crystal fibers. But firstly, to get used to the software, I am trying the commercial ones.

I have tryed to simulate the mode field distribution of the basic one (please see attached file) but I cannot get the expected results. Field is located outisde the "core" of the fiber instead inside it.

I believe that my problem is how to set the effective refractive index to look arround it. How could I know wich is this value?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Aitor
