The material parameter thread

Hey!

Modelling accuracy is very dependent on getting the material parameters right. I thought that this thread could be a place where we could gather information about how we go about finding these parameters.

- Any tips for online material databases which include density, Poissons ratio, Young's Modulus etc. ?
- Measurement prosedures?

Hi Tom

I use essentially my suppliers databases (hoping they are accurate), but I have also my specific books in the different fields, and then Matweb and the COMSOL DB.
Finally via measurements, I sometimes can adapt the material properties to experimental data, especially when my providers do not really know themselves ;)

Good luck
