Coupling between different geometries and dimensions

Hi All

I need to use COMSOL to calculate a 3-Dimensional magnetic field originating from a 2-Dimensional current distribution. The way I plan to do this, is to define a (actually two) Laplace PDE problem(s) with the current density given as a boundary condition on one face of a cube. This works just fine, in theory.

The snag is that this current distribution is given as a solution to another COMSOL model, this time a 2-Dimensional.

So, I somehow need to get this solution onto the face of the cube, for which, COMSOL is very uncooperative. For one thing, the 2D-geometry is not a square, but in can be enclosed by a square and the remainder of the cube face simply has to be zero. I've been trying to use some extrusion coupling variables, but to no luck.

Anyone has any ideas on how to tackle this one?
