The socket allows you to simultaneously run calculations in COMSOL and in your favorite package for thermodynamic and physical properties of fluids. You can set up this socket directly in the Model Builder. All major packages for calculation of thermodynamic and physical properties of fluids are CAPE-OPEN compliant.
- An interface for surface reactions simplifies the definition of these reactions, especially when these are coupled to homogeneous reactions.
All backward compatibility issues are planned to be solved for version 4.0a unless explicitly stated.
Export from Reaction Engineering Lab to COMSOL Multiphysics does not include material balances where equilibrium is used to eliminate the reaction kinetics.
You can treat such systems by using large values for the rate constants and keeping the relation between the forward and reverse rate constants so they satisfy the equilibrium relation within a given accuracy. The re-implementation of this export functionality is planned for version 4.1.
