Gas Box Designer App

This application computes the back pressure in a network of pipes fed by a system of mass flow controllers (MFC). Each MFC supplies a given flow rate to one of the pipes, and can only function correctly if the back pressure remains below 760 Torr. Users can obtain results for chosen pipe dimensions, boundary conditions, and fluid model.

This application was created using a model of the reaction kinetics in a tubular reactor. Users may alter the reactor properties and boundary conditions in order to analyze the temperature and conversion profiles resulting from the exothermic reaction.

Tuning Fork App

Tuning Fork App

This application computes the fundamental mode and resonant frequency for a tuning fork. The app can also find the length of the prongs for a given target frequency. For example, this tuning fork vibrates at 440 Hz, or standard concert pitch, when its prong length is 81.34 mm.

This application is based on a model of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer and directional couplers used to control the output amplitude and phase of the light passing through the modulator.
