A Disk Magnet inside a Ring Magnet

Please login with a confirmed email address before reporting spam

Hi Everybody,

I have two permanent magnets, one is a disk magnet that has a 8mm diameter, and in the middle of the second magnet, which is a ring magnet that has an inner diameter of 16mm and an outer diameter of 25mm.

What I would like to do is to get numerical data, using Maxwell's stress tensor, of the net force on the disk magnet,
when have it centered, and also when I move it off center and plot a graph of net magnetic force Vs. position from
the center.

I would expect the net force exerted on the centered disk magnet, to be zero, due to symmetry, but they are not.

Can someone check my model and tell me where I am making my mistakes?
