linear extrusion COMSOL 4.0

hi people

so... I wana do a linear extrusion (3D geometry to 2D geometry), I have got '... illegal vertex...' error upon a run, here are my questions:

- in my 3D geometry, there are more than 100 vertices to choose, but I am only allowed to choose 4 as 'source vertices', I chose the four from each corner of the geometry in this sequence (top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left)
- in my 2D geometry (rectangular), I chose the only four vertices available in this sequence (top left, top right, bottom right, bottom left)
- am I doing it right so far?
- should I run the study of the 3D geometry or the one of the 2D?

Appreciate any inputs... thanks in advance!!
