The COMSOL Group provides software solutions for multiphysics modeling. We are a fast growing high tech engineering software company with a proven track record and a vision as a leader of the industry. The company was founded in July 1986 in Stockholm, Sweden. We have grown to include offices in Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, India, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the U.S.A.

Founders and History

Svante Littmarck and Farhad Saeidi founded the company in 1986. Svante Littmarck is the CEO of the COMSOL Group and the President and CEO of COMSOL, Inc. Farhad Saeidi is the President of COMSOL AB.

In 1998 we published the first version of our flagship product, COMSOL Multiphysics®. In subsequent years, our product line was expanded to include a suite of discipline-specific add-on modules for Structural Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, Hi and Low Frequency Electromagnetics, Heat Transfer, MEMS, Earth Science, Acoustics, and more. We also added modules for importing and exporting CAD drawings and a Material Properties Library to simplify modeling and simulation of real world phenomena.
